Prayer - AN ADAPTATION OF HENRY DAVID THOREAU'S POEM
An original setting by Douglas Clark, for organ and bass/baritone (or alto) soloist.  The lyrics are an adaptation of Henry David Thoreau’s poem “Prayer,” or “Great God, I Ask Thee for No Meaner Pelf." An early draft of the piece was premiered in December 2018 by Jeremy Lees, with Andrew John Kosinski on organ, at the First United Methodist Church in Asbury Park, NJ.
The final engraved version available here, benefits from the kind advice of organists John Kosinski, Timothy Broege, and Karin Gargone.
